Dog saftey

Today on 31st of August the senior syndicate meet Sean from the dog saftey team. He explained how to be safe around dogs and how to be responsible dog owners. The first thing he showed us was how to pick up your dogs poo and he got out a fake poo and blamed it on Luka his dog. After that he showed us how he tell how old a dog is by the colour of the teeth. Luka was an amazing dog the whole time he was so behaved. He also showed us a video about how if a dog on its own leave it alone and we all new the song so we all knew the lyrics it was really funny when we'd forget the lyrics of the song and we'd continue singing the wrong lyrics. When we finished the song we found out that we can win lollipops so he gave our teachers some lollipops for the children, I hope they don't eat all of them haha. When we had to go back to our classrooms we where so disappointed because we were having so much fun until it ended we are so lucky to get such cool people come to our school. The end

Refugee Simulation - Miss Hart

Last Tuesday Rooms 1-4 went on a long walk. We did this to give the students am experience of what it was like for Refugee's to make the long journey to safety along the way calls such as single file, drop and hide were called to give them an idea of the realities of the walk. We stopped to do four experiences.  The first the students experienced getting instructions and food in a camp, the next they were blindfolded to give them an idea of walking in the night, thirdly they had to do shelter building and lastly they were given instructions in Hindi by Mrs Rodericks. We enjoyed the trip but we're very tired and appreciative of what we had.

Room 3 Mihi's - Miss Hart

On Friday some of the children from Room 3 shared their mihi. Last term we learnt a basic mihi to share who we are. We learnt new language such as tuahine - sister of a boy, tungane - brother of a  , tuakana - older sibling of the same gender, teina - younger sibling of the same gender. The children did an amazing job! Check out the video in this link to see Room 3's Mihis.
